New Allied Universal employees are automatically enrolled into the company's 401(k) plan after 30 days of employment at a 1% contribution of eligible earnings. An employee must be at least age 18 to participate in the 401(k) plan. However, to receive the company match, an employee must be age 21 or older and completed one year of service, equivalent to 1,000 hours of service in the first year of employment or any plan year.

If you have a 401(k) plan through Allied Universal Corporation, visit the Empower website to access your 401(k) account. You will be required to enter your username and password to log in. You can also use the forgot login feature to reset your username or password if you lost your login credentials. If you are an Allied Universal employee and don't have login credentials, you can register a 401(k) account as a new user.
Allied Universal 401k Match
Allied Universal offers a 401(k) match to eligible employees who are at least age 21 and have completed one year of service. To meet the year of service requirement, an employee must work at least 1000 hours during the first year of employment or in any plan year following their date of employment. Allied Universal 401k loan
The Allied Universal 401(k) plan allows participants to take plan loans against their contributions. Eligible participants can borrow the lesser of 50% of their vested balance up to a maximum of $50,000. The minimum 401(k) loan that a participant can borrow is $1000.
Allied Universal 401k after termination
If you have a 401(k) plan with Allied Universal and you have been terminated, you may have several options with the money. If you have at least $5,000 in your 401(k) balance, you can leave the money with Empower to continue growing. You can also roll over the 401(k) balance to an IRA or a new employer’s 401(k) plan.
If you have a financial need, you can choose to take a distribution, but be aware that you will owe income taxes and potential penalties if you are below age 59 ½. If your 401(k) balance is below $1,000, your 401(k) will be automatically cashed out, and your balance sent via mailed check.

Plan participants may be allowed to make 401(k) withdrawals under certain circumstances. If you are under 59 ½ and still employed, your withdrawal options may be limited; you will be able to withdraw any rollover contributions at any time, but you will owe income taxes and potential penalties.
If you are facing a hardship, you may be allowed to take a withdrawal to meet specific hardships such as medical expenses, eligible education expenses, prevent eviction, etc., but the withdrawal is limited to the amount you need to satisfy your hardship.
After age 59 ½, you will be allowed to take a distribution from your Allied Universal 401(k) penalty-free. You will still owe income taxes on the distribution.

You may be allowed to make an early withdrawal from your Allied Universal 401(k) plan in limited circumstances. If you are younger than 59 ½, you must be facing an immediate and heavy financial need to qualify for a hardship withdrawal. This withdrawal is limited to specific hardships outlined in the summary plan description and limits withdrawals to the amount needed to satisfy the specific hardship. Remember, early withdrawals from a pre-tax 401(k) are subject to income taxes at your tax bracket, in addition to a 10% early withdrawal penalty.

Allied Universal 401k eligibility
New employees become eligible to participate in the Allied Universal 401(k) plan within 30 days of employment. They are automatically enrolled into the plan after 30 days of employment at a 1% contribution of eligible earnings. However, employees are only eligible to participate in the plan once they attain age 18.
Allied Universal 401k vesting
401(k) participants are always fully vested in their pre-tax and post-tax contributions. However, different rules apply for employer contributions.
