AutoZone offers the AutoZone Inc. 401(k) plan through Prudential Retirement, a leading financial services provider. The provider offers plan participants various tools, investment options, and resources to help them manage their 401(k) retirement savings.
Enrolled AutoZone 401(k) plan participants can access their 401(k) accounts via the Prudential Retirement website. The online platform allows participants to allocate funds across different investment options, project their savings, and monitor their retirement savings over time.
As of April 1, 2022, Empower acquired the full-service retirement business of Prudential Retirement.
AutoZone 401k login
AutoZoners can access their 401(k) accounts online through the Prudential Retirement website. Plan participants are required to enter a username and password to log in to their 401(k) account.
If you are a first-time user, you will be required to register a new account to access your 401(k) account. If you forgot your username or password, use the “forgot username/password” feature to create new login details.
The online platform allows participants to check their 401(k) balance, adjust contributions, reallocate funds to various investment options, and access important plan documents.
AutoZone 401k match
AutoZone offers a 100% match on the first 3% of contributions that an employee puts into the plan and an additional 50% match on the next 2% of employee contributions. So, if you contribute 5% of your pay, the company will contribute an additional 4% to your 401(k) account. To take full advantage of the company match, you should contribute at least 5% of your pay to the plan.

AutoZone 401k after termination
Once you leave your job at AutoZone, you have a few options with the money. You can choose to leave the 401(k) money with Prudential, roll over to the new employer’s 401(k) or IRA, or make a withdrawal.
If you are happy with Prudential’s investment options, you can leave the money in the plan but you need to have at least $5,000 in your 401(k) account. Rolling over to an IRA or 401(k) can help ensure continuity in your retirement savings. However, if you choose to withdraw the money, be aware that the withdrawal may be subject to taxes and penalties.
AutoZone 401k withdrawal
You will be allowed to withdraw money from your AutoZone 401(k) plan starting from age 59 ½ or later. Withdrawals made after age 59 ½ will be subject to income taxes at your tax bracket. You can choose to delay withdrawals until you reach age 73 when you must start taking Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs).
AutoZone 401k early withdrawal
In certain circumstances, AutoZone 401(k) plan participants may be allowed to take early withdrawals before age 59 ½. The plan may allow early withdrawals if a participant is facing an immediate and heavy financial need, including medical expenses, disability, foreclosure, post-secondary education costs, etc.
Early 401(k) withdrawals are subject to income taxes and early withdrawal penalties. However, certain qualifying situations may qualify for an exemption from the 10% early withdrawal penalty.
