Publix is an American employee-owned grocery chain that is headquartered in Lakeland, Florida. Founded in 1930, the grocery chain has grown from a single store to more than 1388 stores and 250,000 employees as of September 2023. If you are a Publix employee, one of the benefits you will receive is a Publix 401(k) Smart plan.

Publix employees become eligible to participate in the Publix 401(k) Smart plan 6 months after their hire date if they are at least age 18 or older. Employees can contribute as low as $1 and up to 30% of their eligible pay each pay period, up to the annual IRS contribution limit. The company also offers a 50% match of every dollar you contribute, up to 3% of eligible pay with a maximum limit of $750 a year.
