Securitas 401k loan
The Securitas 401(k) plan allows employees to borrow against their 401(k) loans to meet certain expenses. Eligible participants can borrow the lesser of 50% of their vested balance, up to a maximum of $50,000. The 401(k) loan is repaid with interest, deducted from the employee’s paycheck. The loan has a repayment period of up to 5 years, or more if you are taking a 401(k) loan to purchase your primary residence.
If you leave Securitas before fully repaying the loan, the outstanding loan balance will become due immediately, and if you default on loan repayments, it may be considered a taxable distribution.
Securitas 401k after termination
When an employee leaves Securitas, they may have several options with their 401(k) funds. They can opt to leave the money in the plan if they meet the minimum required balance, or roll it over to another retirement plan such as an IRA or a new employer's 401(k) plan.
If you have an urgent financial need or a large purchase, you may consider taking a 401(k) withdrawal, but be aware that the distribution will be subject to taxes and penalties if you are younger than 59 ½.
Securitas 401k withdrawal
You can withdraw funds from your 401(k) account when you retire, leave your job, or become permanently disabled. In this case, the withdrawals will be subject to income taxes and an additional 10% penalty tax if you are below 59 ½.
When making a 401(k) withdrawal, you must determine the amount you want to withdraw. Then, contact the plan administrator to request the withdrawal, and indicate how you want to receive the distribution, either via check or direct deposit to your bank account. Once the withdrawal request is processed, you will receive the payment within 3 to 5 business days.
Securitas 401k early withdrawal
In some situations, you may be allowed to take an early withdrawal from your 401(k) account, usually before age 59 ½. If you are facing a financial hardship, disability, or IRS-approved reason, you will be allowed to withdraw money from your 401(k) plan to meet your specific needs. However, you can only withdraw the amount needed to satisfy the financial hardship.
Additionally, before you make an early 401(k) withdrawal, you must exhaust other withdrawal options including rollovers and 401(k) loans.
Securitas 401k rollover form
If you want to roll over your Securitas 401(k) funds to another retirement plan, you must complete a rollover form. This form allows you to move your 401(k) money while maintaining their tax-deferred status.
To obtain the rollover form, log into Merrill Lynch's Benefits online portal and download it. You can also contact Merrill Lynch customer service to request it. Fill out the rollover form with accurate information to ensure the funds are transferred to the intended retirement plan.
